Bixdo® Glossonic Brush Air

I like this toothbrush very much, good rumbly vibration that I can hardly feel holding in my hand, but only feel in the brush.The blue light settings are mesmerizing if you're brushing your teeth in the mirror. And I love love the royal purple color. By comparison my oldie but goodie sonic toothbrush seems weak.I like the daily setting and the gumcare setting best. The toothbrush will light up "insufficient" if you stop before the recommend brushing time. Which was funny to me but I did brush more because of it.The bristle head attaches very smoothly and securely and does seem like it's well made.Do I like the toothpaste? No. But I don't like any of the store bought toothpastes.Even without the blue light or the whitening paste I think this is a really nice toothbrush. I will continue using it, and my old one is sitting in the corner for now, and headed for the drawer.This is an expensive toothbrush. It charges quickly and lasts for weeks. It's a nice color. I say worth it!

I've used a variety of ultrasonic toothbrushes over the past few years and this is better than any by an order of magnitude. I remember with the first Braun I purchased how shockingly clean and polished my teeth felt, like just leaving the dentist, minus the stray grit polish. I had the same sensation with first use of this toothbrush. It just cleans better than anything I've used to date.Note that the default time is 6 segments of 30 seconds, so 1.5x typical sonic brush timers.In using the toothbrush, it just feels like a well-engineered device. The motor barely moves the handle at all; only the brush head is moving at all. The brush head feels like a better grade of brush also. For the record, replacement heads are $17 for two. I'd expect that aftermarket heads will soon be available, but I'm not sure I want to look into those, even if they are cheaper because the OEM heads are really good.The benefit of blue light led brushes has already has already been evaluated and found to be negligible by the NIH. I don't want to try and make a case for that, but the combination of a well-engineered ultrasonic toothbrush and a whitening toothpaste do make for a very nice experience while brushing.I like it very much and will continue to use it as my primary brushing tool.

Bixdo��s toothpaste also fails to provide the percentage of hydroxyapatite in it. 10% nano-hydroxyapatite is considered ideal in a fluoride-free toothpaste, and most fluoride-free toothpastes prominently promote their percentage. You can purchase 4 2.6-oz. tubes of the Bixdo toothpaste on Amazon for $29.99. I am reluctant to spend that kind of money on a toothpaste with these deficiencies. Right now, I am using the tube of Bixdo toothpaste which came with the toothbrush. I put a dab of it plus a dab of a fluoride toothpaste on the toothbrush.The toothbrush comes with just one extra brush head. Many of the less expensive sonic toothbrushes come with 4 - 6 brush heads. It is annoying that a toothbrush as expensive as the Bixdo toothbrush does not. The brush heads are not available on Amazon, but you can order a 2-pack from Bixdo for $22.99. Between the cost of the toothpaste and the cost of the brush heads, you will be investing long-term in Bixdo��s whitening system.The thick handle of the Bixdo Glossonic Brush Air measures 1-1/16" in diameter. For someone with large hands, it won't be an issue. If your hands are smaller, you will likely find it uncomfortable to hold. The handle is perfectly smooth and slippery as opposed to being textured, which makes it even more difficult to maintain a grip. It is navy blue and white in color. It looks nice in my bathroom, but you may be bothered by the lack of color choices. You do not get a charging dock with it. You would need to order the Brush Pro ($139.99 rather than $99.99) if you want a charging dock. Keep in mind, though, that the Brush Air operates at 42,000 VPM (vibrations per minute) while the Brush Pro operates at 31,000 VPM. If I have to choose between a charging dock and a higher VPM, I'll take the higher VPM. I have not been using the Brush Air long enough to judge its full whitening capability, but it is fine as a sonic toothbrush except for the thickness and slipperiness of the handle. I have sensitive teeth and was happy that this feels gentle while still giving me a good clean. The set-up is easy and directions are clear. There are different modes to choose from, including a gentler option, and the brush head feels comfortable on my teeth and gums. I've been mostly using the Diamond White Mode. The blue light whitening is a cool feature that I've never seen before for a toothbrush. The brush itself has some weight to it, but is comfortable to hold and feels hight quality. The toothpaste included has a pleasant mint flavor. The battery also lasts a long time between charges. I'm very happy with this.

The toothpaste also stinks, and I can't use it because it is fluoride-free. I don't feel like this is worth the price they want for it. I feel like the whole blue light whitening thing is a gimmick.
